The optimal Hardcore formulation is unmeasured but equal enough parts of sound and style. An uneasy bargain with the devil himself would be the fastest way to that middle place, but WRECKAGE didn’t need to sell their souls to make a hardcore record that bleeds at its edges. We’re dealing with tangible emotion, decipherable feeling and most importantly the Hardcore kinetic energy. Life on Display is a fully realized idea, like Cormac McCarthy's Old West or the last 20 minutes of HEAT, you have a band that worked their way through what they wanted to express through Hardcore, and executed that final conclusion in 20 some odd minutes.
